Audition Details

You will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to your audition and plan for an hour total for your audition and post-audition orientation. You should schedule 1.5 hours for the total CMP Audition process. No food or drinks (other than bottled water) will be allowed at the audition venue.

If you have completed an audio or video recording project/projects or demo, please bring 2-3 copies to give to the review team...(this is not a requirement for endorsement consideration).

If you have an EPK/press kit, please bring a copy to leave with the team.

At the audition you will be allowed thirty minutes onstage before the CMP Review Team (which includes your set up and break down time). During this time you are encouraged to be prepared to perform 3-4 songs. To the degree that it is possible, you will want to demonstrate a sample of your total performance. All songs do not have to be performed in their entirety, however, whatever selections you choose should be pre-programmed on your CD (if using CD accompaniment) before entering the audition room.

If you choose to use pre-recorded tracks, all songs should be included on one CD labeled clearly with your name. If you have original songs, we strongly encourage you to perform them as a part of the audition. Following the performance component of the audition, you may be asked to give a verbal witness to the focus of your ministry, as well as, your commitment to your ministry.

CMP will provide an audio engineer for the audition venue. If your audio engineer is critical to your performance, they will be allowed to assist in audio set up and operation during the audition performance under the guidance and supervision of the hosting audio engineer.

Other suggestions to make a positive impression on the CMP Review Team:

  • If using pre-recorded accompaniment tracks, have continuous playing CD (Only One CD) of desired audition material.

  • Wear concert attire appropriate to your presentation format

  • Be prepared to set-up and break down in a timely manner. Note that set-up/break down is a part of the thirty minutes that is allotted for your audition.

If your set up needs are extensive, we allow and encourage you to bring additional help, thereby allowing you to maximize the time dedicated to actual performance

Break down means to exit the stage with any equipment, so another artist is free to set up.

If the CMP Endorsement is awarded to you, the Endorsement subscription fee is required to initiate your Endorsement posting. At your approval, CMP will charge the major credit card used for your audition fee or another credit/debit source you may choose to provide. This will immediately post your listing to the CMP Artist Database, making your Bio page available for concert presenters to view.
